Localgroup Studio is a co-working space located in Bellingham, WA dedicated to the practice, presentation, and discussion of design in its many forms.

In addition to providing designers and coders with a space for co-working, the studio offers platforms for dialogue, collaboration, networking, education, and research.

After regular business hours (M-F, 9 to 6 pm) the Studio is available for meetings, workshops, classes, events, pop-up shops, and other gatherings.

The Environment

Localgroup Studio fosters a creative co-working community in an airy and mindful environment. The Studio supports the inspired work of its members by putting intention into the many details which inform the look and feel of its space, with artist-designed furniture, a library specializing in art and design books, and original art hanging on the walls. In addition, the Studio is committed to the health and welfare of its members as well as our planet (by using green cleaning/paper products, offering organic teas and coffee, living with plants and flowers).

The Location

The Studio is conveniently located in the arts & civic district in downtown Bellingham and is adjacent to Maritime Heritage park. Standing only one block from the US Post Office, the Studio is also on public transit lines. Bike storage is available to members.

The Culture

We firmly believe in supporting the creative work of our community. We also hope to grow the ambition, volume, and critical nature of Bellingham's design discussions by creating space for connecting, whether locally, regionally, or internationally. To this end, the Studio hosts periodic social and educational events. Outside of office hours, the Studio is committed to using design to create meaningful civic engagement with projects that benefit the local community and environment.

Besides promoting design oriented events and initiatives, we are proud to support local organizations by hosting meetings for groups enriching the Bellingham and Whatcom communities including BRUNA PRESS + ARCHIVE, the Bellingham Tenants UnionPeer Mentoring at Bellingham.designCascadia Deaf Nation, and the Bellingham chapter of FairVote Washington.
